ABOUT HOUSE OF LOVING HANDS
Our mission is to provide women in the Contra Costa Area/Bay Area a safe transitional housing alternative, teach a multitude of skills to empower the women to self-sufficiency, and facilitate the possible reunification of clients to society. Our mission is to set up a haven for abused women and their children. We want to place them where they are free from hurt. Our goal through counseling, therapy, group sessions, job training, love and support to get these women back on their feet and become productive in society not depending on anyone but their own success and accomplishments.
My job is to help build their self-esteem so they can stand on their own platform of success. House of Loving Hands mission/goal is for the women and their children to be healed from the inside out.
About the Founder
My name is Deneshia and I am the founder of House of Loving Hands. I was one of those young girls that dreamt of being married with a house and children, surrounded by a white picket fence and a dog. However, my dreams became a nightmare when I got married. I was married and abused consistently for 7 years, that ultimately ended with my throat being slit. But, here I stand as a Survivor! I obtained my AS in Early Childhood Development and I also worked hard to receive my BS in Human Development for Women, so that, I could understand the thought pattern of children, women and different cultures which started my journey to becoming an advocate for hurt women. Domestic violence hits all races, all religions, all incomes and education levels and my experience has directed me into the position of opening a Non-Profit Organization for Abused Women with Children, where my motto is, “You’re Not Alone, It’s Not Ok and It’s Not Your Fault. I AM MY SISTER’S KEEPER.
